April Theme - Water!

Let's hope we don't have too much water in April, at least not from the sky!  It will be a busy month for all of us. 

Since we live on an island, it should not be hard to come up with some pictures of water.  In addition to that, we can always try to think outside the box and come up with some creative water shots as well.   As always, it will be interesting to see the creative process. 

Thanks again for your submissions in March for the "It's Biblical!" theme.  I think we all had fun with it.

The Real Life!

I really wanted to end the month off with another one of my favorite scriptures.  I had to improvise just a little.

1 Timothy 6:19 - "safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, in order that they may get a firm hold on the real life."

Bye, Bye, Birdie!

Noah sent out a dove two times after the flood.  Each time the dove returned.  Genesis 8:12 states what happened the third time:  "Then he sent out the dove, but it dd not come back again to him anymore."

Harvest Time!

Matthew 13:30 - "Let both grow together until the harvest; and in the harvest season I will tell the reapers, First collect the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them up, then go to gathering the wheat into my storehouse."

Take a Lesson from the Tulip!

Perhaps this is not a lily, but it reminded me of the scripture at Matthew 6:28,29 - "Also, on the matter of clothing, why are you anxious?  Take a lesson from the lilies of the field, how they are growing; they do not toil, nor do they spin; but I say to you not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these."

A Father's Plea

Like waves that endlessly roll to shore, can be the righteousness of one who heeds Jehovah's commands.

Psalms 48:18 - "O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments!  Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea."

The Righteous Man

Being straight and tall as well as fruitful, the palm tree was also a fitting symbol of the 'righteous man' 'planted in the courtyards of Jehovah.'

The righteous himself will blossom forth as a palm tree does;

As a cedar in Lebanon does, he will grow big.

Those who are planted in the house of Jehovah,

In the courtyards of our God, they will blossom forth.

Not Forgotten

Luke 12:6 - "Five sparrows sell for two coins of small value, do they not?  Yet not one of them goes forgotten before God."

Although this photo was not taken this month, (thankfully we have been snow free in March) when I was perusing my photos, this one immediately reminded me of the above scripture.
