In search of creative growth, this blog was designed to encourage the personal betterment of those who enjoy photography as a hobby. Each month's new theme can encourage us to see the world in a different way. We all view things differently. The diversity we enjoy can fuel the creative spirit. It is hoped that we can all glean something from one another.

Frabjous - (frab-juhs) - adjective

Defined as wonderful, superb, elegant or delicious. Coined by Lewis Carroll in Through the Looking Glass; perhaps meant to suggest fabulous or joyous. Do we not feel wonderful or joyous about something we ourselves have created? Hopefully this blog will encourage us to create something frabjous!

Here is how it works. Each month will have a new theme to stimulate creative thinking. We invite people to make suggestions for upcoming themes. The month prior, you can vote for the theme you would like out of four listed. The rules are simple. No rules really. The idea is to get us to think and be mindful of the theme for the month. Take photos that relate to that theme. (However, if you have a really great shot that was taken at another time, use it.) No photo police here. Any camera will do. Even phones with cameras are pretty good these days and they are always handy. Also, if a filter or cropping enhances your photo, go for it. The digital age has given us flexibility that we should take advantage of. One to five photos can be submitted for the blog. Interpretation is up to each individual. We welcome comments.

Theme suggestions and photos can be submitted to frabjousphoto@optonline.net. Submissions must be made no later than the last day of each month. Photos will be posted as received throughout the month. Happy snapping!

The Old "House"stead!


Sparrow will now try to interpolate, for Kryptonite, how this picture fits into our theme for the month.  It may be a stretch longer than the length of this rainbow, but here goes:

Dorothy said it best, "There's no place like home."  Or perhaps, the old homestead.  Or, home is where the heart is.  After being away from home for any length of time, who doesn't enjoy returning home.  There is a sense of security and comfort in being in familiar surroundings.  So when Kryptonite returned from his trip, he was greeted by this beautiful rainbow across his home town.  Welcoming him back, in a way.  And when Krypto got to his doorstep I am sure he uttered these words:  "Ah, it's good to be back in "this old house.""  O.k. maybe not those exact words, but you get the idea.

    This MUST be the very last straw.. this blog will now .. must now be entered into the blog of no rules .. no sense blogs and therefore loose all recognition as a BLOG with merit!!

    As the additional comment that was supposed to be commented about the last commentator has yet to be..COMMENTED ON ... take this as fare warning: ANY REMARK THAT EVEN RESEMBLES ONE OF DEROGATORY IN NATURE WILL BE TAKEN AS AN ACT OF ... WWI.. (WORD WAR) " THERE IS ENOUGH OF THIS GOING ON IN THE WORLD TODAY WITHOUT ADDING TO IT.. THE CHOICE IS AS THEY SAY UP TO Y-O-U!!!
